"Who makes people deaf and blind?" (Alleged Contradiction #E3076)
And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit … When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
Mark 9:17, 25
God makes everyone and has a purpose for their life, including those who are blind, deaf, or dumb. Many times ailments like blindness or dumbness are physical limitations, but sometimes they are results of possession by evil spirits, and yet other times physical ailments are the results of Satan’s persecution against Christians. 1
