"Has God ever tempted anyone?" (Alleged Contradiction #E2551)
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man …
And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

God does not tempt anyone with evil (see the entire verse of James 1:13). However, God can “tempt” us in the sense that He “tests” us (an old meaning of tempt is to test or try). For instance, God tested Abraham’s faith by commanding him to do something very difficult, but God never tried to get Abraham to sin.
