"Who was the father of Kish?" (Alleged Contradiction #E8298)
Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.
I Samuel 9:1
And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
I Chronicles 8:33

The family tree: 1
Abiel is actually the grandfather of Kish, not the immediate father. In biblical language it is common for an ancestor to be referred to as a “father,” even if not the immediate father.
